Our classes are fun and focused. Every student works in every class. Co-taught by professional actors Rob Sedgwick and Cathy Russell, the duo has a combined 60 years of experience in stage and screen. Below you'll find descriptions of our acting classes, audition workshops, and our much-requested Business of Acting class.

Introductory Classes

Everyone works in every class, starting from the first session where actors cold read a monologue. Students are taught how to analyze a scene, make strong and interesting choices, take direction, and audition effectively. The six-week course culminates in an audition workshop before an industry casting director. These classes are useful for several kinds: seasoned professionals who want more audition experience, non-actors who want to feel more comfortable with public speaking, and/or those who have always wanted to try acting as a career but weren’t sure how to begin. Rob and Cathy create an environment that is focused yet fun and many students enjoy meeting and working with the diverse group of people- electricians, psychiatrists, architects, doormen, pharmacists, stock brokers, IT specialists, and more who take our classes.

Advanced Adult Classes

Our advanced classes require a more rigorous examination of scripts, scenes, and character. Students in the advanced class will devote their time to two monologues (one supplied by the student and one assigned in class), as well as a scene from a play that will be worked on with a partner intensely over the six-week course. The class requires dedication as well as rehearsal outside of class with your scene partner. This class also culminates in an audition workshop before a casting director.

Please Note: An audition and/or approval from Cathy or Rob is required.
